Queen Elizabeths School Counsellor
Tel:01202 885 233
Anna provides full-time counselling for young people aged 13-18 within the school environment. The service is free and confidential, and offers one-to-one support during school hours. It is an open-minded service, offering both long - and short-term support depending on the student's needs.
Counselling helps students talk through their concerns and process their emotions in a healthy and constructive way. It helps their personal development, enabling them to build resilience and find their own solutions to problems. It aims to help them increase self-awareness and self-acceptance and gain a better sense of autonomy, which can make a positive difference in their lives and the way they feel about themselves.
Due to the ever-increasing level of mental health needs in young people, the school counselling service provides a vital immediate support that can prevent further escalation and avoid crisis. Due to the consistent nature of the service, young people can build a trusting therapeutic relationship, which is recognised to be key for successful outcomes. Anna is passionate about supporting the mental health of children and young people and is keen to advocate the cost-effective and important role of the school counsellor within the wider system of support in Dorset.
